ABOUT CORI
P1392630.JPG

Cori was born and raised in San Francisco to Chinese and Vietnamese parents. In classic first-generation form, she went through school with the added pressure to excel academically and master her extracurriculars. Cori worked really hard, but like many kids with severe ADHD, good grades didn’t come naturally and she quickly learned she was bound for a different path.

Cori first discovered her affinity for drawing in elementary school when she incorrectly did an illustration assignment in her art class. While she was supposed to draw her interpretation of a couch potato graphic, she instead drew an exact duplicate of the given example. Cori initially thought she was in trouble as her teachers passed around her drawing, but to her surprise, they were quite impressed. It was the first time she felt praise instead of anxiety and criticism for a school assignment. From that point she never really stopped drawing. She loved that there was no right or wrong to it and continued to pursue her passion, starting with after school art classes all the way to obtaining a bachelor of fine arts in painting, drawing, and expanded animation.

Cori learned how to tattoo in Toronto in 2018 where she was first exposed to the industry. While learning as many techniques and styles as possible she slowly developed her own unique style and identity as an artist. In 2020, she moved back to the Bay Area, first working out of her own private studio, and now as a Senior Artist at Parallax in Milpitas, CA. She describes her style as neo-Asian, dark and delicate.
